NY Philharmonic Concert at Van Cortlandt Park

JUN 21, 2016

Tuesday, 8:00 PM

This is by far one of our favorite free events in the Bronx. Last year's highly anticipated concert was cancelled by the NYPD due to weather related concerns, this year we're in the clear.

For the second year in a row, the New York Philharmonic will present Share the Stage, featuring performances by local musicians in their home boroughs, to salute the diversity of New York City’s resident musicians. Before this concert, from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m., Afro-Puerto Rican drummersBombaYo will perform.

The program will include pieces by Rossini (Oveture to La Gazza Ladra), Mozaart (Clarinet Concerto) and R. Strauss (Ein Heldenleben).  The concert ends with a fireworks display!

Showtime's hit show Billions films at Wave Hill

Showtime's hit new show Billions, led by Emmy winning actors Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, filmed a lengthy scene at Wave Hill in the fall that aired on Sunday evening. The show follows U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades' (Giamatti) as he builds a case against hedge-fund billionaire Bobby Axelrod (Lewis). If you're into dramas set and filmed in NYC and the tristate area, than this is the show for you.

We love Wave Hill and cannot speak more highly of it. Click here to check our previous Wave Hill event recaps and as a reminder, Wave Hill is also a participating partner with IDNYC, which offers a one year free membership!
